Our Canada Trip

I'm back from Canada! Okay, actually I've been back for quite a while. We left on Thursday and came back the next day on Friday. The reason I didn't post was because I wanted to upload my pictures from my camera but... I just haven't gotten around to it and I want to post.

First off, we went to some pretty interesting food places in Canada. The first one was a taco place; my mind is going blank and I can't remember what it was called. Anyways, first off there was a sign next to the door that said: At this sight in 1897, nothing happened. Isn't that awesome? Okay, back to the tacos. The place was really small. Like it was a hallway and then a tiny area to sit and eat. We ordered ours and took them to the park nearby. I, of course, got them as plain as possibly. Just beans and cheese. Unfortunately they weren't plain enough; the beans must have had some sort of sauce or spice mixture because I did not like them. I ate them anyway, but they weren't that good.

After that we wandered around the city. We kept having problems with one way roads; we almost went on one while going the wrong way once, and I think we might have gone on one the wrong way once. But I'm not sure. As we were driving around the city the were people everywhere! This eventually led to us saying, "Don't hit the pedestrians!".

So uh... I don't remember what else happened that day until we got our hotel rooms. They were nice, but since we had to get two we couldn't all see each other at all times. We were one door away, so just a short walk. But this led to Tiana and me using the phone to talk to each other. We kept calling each other and being really weird. Then Sereina and I kept swapping and things. We got some really funny video of it!

Then came sleeping. Oh gosh; worst night of sleep ever. First off, the rooms were stuffy when we arrived. But we didn't turn on our air conditioner thingy because we were at the other room hanging out. We turned it on a little bit before bed, then turned it off because of how noisy it was (I personally didn't mind the noise). Well, I ended up sleeping on top of the covers and multiple times in the night I got up and stood in front of the bathroom window to cool down. The hot air made it hard to breath (for me at least). Like, I could breath, but I needed cold air. Luckily I finally fell asleep. But it was terrible. I was up half the night, so the next day I was really tired.

Erm... I don't remember what happened on the second day. Oh my gosh! I totally forgot! On the first day, after dinner we had pie (yes, I splurged and at sugar! Gasp!). The pie... oh my gosh. It was the best gluten free, dairy free pie I've ever had. It was better than pie with gluten in it. The crust was so sweet, and it melted in your mouth. Oh, it was amazing. Okay, back to day two. On day two we ate breakfast at Smak; a place that serves healthy food. I just got a sugar free hot chocolate and a smoothie. While we were eating my dad and I were sitting at a bar area, and we could see everyone who passed. This turned into a game: whenever someone walked by while talking on their phone we'd get minus one points, and for every person who didn't have a phone we got plus one point (people listening to music didn't count). Well, the results were very different than I thought. Less than ten people, out of about fifty, were on their phones. Later in the day we got this amazing ice cream (my second, and last sugar splurge for the trip). I got chocolate, and let me tell you. It was the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had. No doubt.

Okay. Now the rest of the day is a blur. We went to Point Roberts (look it up) and then home. That's about it. That roughly sums up the trip! I'll see about posting pictures some time soon (hopefully a few of them even turne

Canada, Full Steam Ahead!

Hey guys, guess what? My grandma is flying from California today to visit us! She'll be staying until next Wednesday. I'm really excited! Although even more exciting; sometime during her visit we're going to take an over night trip to Canada! Yes, we're going to Canada! I've been there once before, but I was too young to remember it. Now I'm definitively old enough to remember, so I'm super excited! I want to take loads of pictures to share here on my blog, and I'll hopefully be able to borrow by mom's camera. It's way better than mine!

I'm totally obsessed with the Harry Potter soundtrack. Now that I've downloaded Spotify I can listen to it on my computer all I want. So far my favorite movie score is The Prisoner of Askaban and my favorite character (the movie version at least) is Luna Lovegood. She's just... awesome. I'm not entirely sure why, but I just really love her character. Actually, somewhat surprisingly, I kind of like Snape. Sure, he's quite stiff and he doesn't like Harry. But even so, he's kind of cool. For some reason I find it funny when he whacks the students (more like Harry and Ron) on the back of the head with a book. I'm totally a Potter Head.

So yesterday I worked on The Shadow a bit. My goal was to write two thousand words a day, starting yesterday; sadly I only wrote about seven hundred. Oh well, it's more than nothing. Besides, I did a bit of plotting out. Plotting is something I've always found really, really hard. Even so, I'm trying to work through that so writing will become easier. I've also been reading a lot of writing tips on the internet. So that helped motivate me.

I'm going to Canada! Ha! I'm still quite stunned. See, we always plan trips way in advanced. The bigger it is, the farther in advanced we plan it. Now this is a fairly small trip, but we only started planning it a few days ago. Crazy, right? It's like when we went on our Disney Cruise two years ago; we planned it only a few months in advanced when usually we'd have done it a year or so in advanced. I love spur of the moment trips!

Gahhh! I love Harry Potter! This soundtrack is aaammmaazziiinnnggggg!!!

Aviation Day: On the Dark Side

Today. Was. Epic! Haha, it was a blast all the way, even though we worked "The Dark Side" (sounds scary, doesn't it?). First off, I woke up at six in the morning so I could shower and everything to be ready by seven thirty. We had a great breakfast, egg muffin things and sausage! (I love sausage, even if I can only eat one or two before being full). Finally we headed out the door and got to the event. We were technically at Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection, but we were volunteering for Historical Flight, just a small ways away. Now to skip ahead in the story; we were selling merchandise and raffle tickets while Daddy and Tiana were aboard the DC3, telling people about that plane. It was awesome checking people out with the i Pad. I liked it when people payed with a credit card, because I got to swipe the card!

Later on the in day the DC3 was going to do some flying; thing is we were set up right behind it. Not literally, but a good many yard away. Even so, we had to hold onto everything while they revved the engine. It was crazy; the wind from the engines was really hard, and our friends, the Allman's, helped us keep everything from flying away. Of course then the DC3 started moving and the wind so extreme. The cover over us started to blow away, and people just started grabbing hold of everything. It was totally awesome!

Of course, before all this happened something else awesome happened. Before the gates opened the Cobra and the Huey came in. Their propellers break the sound barrier, so as they were coming in at us it sounded like someone was firing a high powered rifle or something. It made my chest start to pound. They flew in formation over to the Historic Flight side. Later on in the day they were taking off and my dad wanted to video them. They were going to fly right over the view berm (a large hill) so me and my mom headed over. I ended up running the camera all the way across the public ramp, then Dave showed us that Daddy was on the berm (we didn't know that at first). Well, I ended up going around all the barriers and up the berm (which is a fairly steep climb). I got there just in time. He got the video and they passed just barely above us! It was soooo cool!

Man. I love a lot of things, and the more we volunteer the more I want to become an aviator. That isn't in my plans for what I want to do in the future. My plan is to grow up, move to England for a bit, come back to America and hopefully start a horse farm while living off the money I make from renting houses (it's a long story). So yeah. But who knows, my dad loves airplanes so I'm never far from them. All my life they've been a normal thing, and they just keep getting cooler and cooler!

Oh, good gracious! Finally! It's here! It's finally here! (Didn't this happen before?) Castles, Customs, and Kings is in at the library! After months of waiting it's finally here!

Huh. My fingers are getting to excited. I kept misspelling words in that last paragraph. I think I'm going to go watch Boy Meets World (if you haven't seen it, watch it. It's so funny "Remember Allen, we were worried about his F-U-T-U-R-E?" -- "Oh mom, you don't have to worry about my furniture!"

Why I Don't Swim in Lakes

Guess what I got? Just about one of the most unpleasant things ever. Swimmers itch. Never heard of it? Let me explain. It's gotten from swimming in lakes with certain bacteria. Basically you get a million itchy, red bumps all over your skin. It's like being eaten by mosquitoes. The first time I got it was horrid. They were all over my legs and arms and body and they itched constantly. Luckily this time it isn't as bad, but man it's not very fun.

So the other night I was thinking about one of my stories, currently called The Shadow since I lack a better name. That story came from a writing exercise I did a while back, and while I haven't been doing any huge plotting I've had quite a bit of inspiration for it. I want to turn it into a trilogy, and I might even be able to. The thing is, I don't want each book to be really short, I want them to be long. But that is hard. I tired to write a trilogy once, it didn't work out because I was stretching it too much, but this might just work. Even though it's really hard for me I'm going to try and plot it out; in this way I will hopefully be able to write some very long books.

Yesterday we went to a meeting for the volunteers for Aviation Day. It was at the airport fire station. Our friends, the Pleticha's were there; it's their first time volunteering. There was a huge table full of pizza; it was kind of painful watching everyone eat while I can't. Anyways, after it was over we just stood outside the firehouse and talked with our friends. We stayed until dark. But before dark something awesome happened. We were all standing around talking when we heard a jet fire up. It kept getting louder and louder until soon I had to cover my ears. We ran over near the runway, which was fenced off, and we saw jets speeding across the runway. My entire body was vibrating from the engines! It was so cool watching them take off! I must say, though air planes aren't my passion, they're pretty darn awesome! I forgot what types of jets they were...

Oh, looks like I gotta go. Tomorrow is Aviation Day; we leave the house a quarter before eight so I have to get up early. Right now I need to go make my food; I can't count on being able to eat any of the food at the event. Between not being able to eat sugar or gluten, my options are extremely limited.

X Never Marks the Spot

Yesterday I had the coolest cut that I've ever gotten. It was, as you might have guessed, in the shape of an X. I got if from picking up Snowy, who had escaped the coop and was settling in for the night on our back deck railing. I picked her up, but she wanted to stand on my arm. In her struggle to stand on my arm, then back on the railing, she scratched up my arm, giving me a cut that swelled a bit right below my wrist. The second cut came from holding a cat against his will (that would be Doji). So that's how I got my X cut (the cut from Snowy has disappeared now, so my X is gone).

And now to cut this post short! It would seem that we are heading to the lake for some swimming! Actually, I may not be able to swim. I've had such a huge growth spurt these last few months that I no longer fit in any of my swimsuits! Terrible, I know! But we're going to stop by Costco on the way to the lake to hopefully get me a new swim suit. If not then I'll probably just read on the beach or just get wet while still fully clothed (that can be very fun at times). I love swimming, so I'd hate to miss out on this! A year or two ago I got flippers and I was ecstatic! I love pretending to be a mermaid while swimming, and flippers make it all the funner! So audios; I may make another post after this to talk about our swimming adventure. I'll bring my camera so I may even go some photos! Gasp! That's right, photos!

Changes!

Oy, welcome to Adventures (Alina style). You'll probably have noticed how much things have changed since you last visited (unless you're a first timer, in which case none of this talk about a new looking blog is relevant). Sereina helped me change it up; she made the banner since she knows how to use Photoshop and I don't. Then I went on and made a few tweaks of my own. So da-ta! My blog is different. Even the name is different (Sereina came up with that too). I even changed my music. Now I've only got one song. Well, technically I've only got one song. But it's nine hours long. Yup, it's the entire Harry Potter movie soundtrack collection! The music in those movies is just awesome, so now it's on my blog. Oh, and now the music doesn't auto play (I found that to get a bit annoying at times, so you'll have to manually play it).

Something tragic has occurred. My friend, Emmalyn, had a Tumblotwit (Tumbler, Blog, Twitter thing). I've mentioned it before. It was a very entertaining Tumblotwit. Was. That's right, it's gone. I'm not sure what happened, but Emmalyn's Tumblotwit is gone and so now I'm sad. She had some really funny posts on there. Like how to cook a Thanksgiving Turkey (it involved raiding the store, wearing armor and letting your mom do the rest). Or her post about preparing for SAT's. That was one of her best. But now it's gone, so let us all have a moment of silence.

...Okay, back to happy thoughts! Um, actually this isn't exactly a happy thought but I'm actually going to get some clothes! Yeah, I've mentioned once or twice that I really don't have any clothes to wear (except a bunch of Pane Field and Historic Flight t-shirts). Today I'm going to be going shopping to try and find clothes! Sadly I'm not much of a shopper, so today will be bitter/sweet. :)

Yesterday I got paid from my job and I used some of my money to buy juice at Trader Joes. Not a little bottle, but like a big one that will last me all week. It's really good, it's a peach juice of some kind... I think. I've never bought juice before; I would say it's a big adventure but in all honesty, I just bought it, went home, and had some with Daniel. The awesome part though; the juice had no tax!

We watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix last night. First off, I do not like that Umbridge lady. She is terrible and I agree with the pin I saw a long time ago. Sereina said she felt like hitting her in the face with a book. Good. That Umbridge was so mean, I mean it was just maddening! But the movie was still really good. It was sad when Sirius Black died. Poor Harry. Oh yeah, this has to do with the movie just before this one, but Neville has finally found something he's good at: dancing!

Okay, well I should probably get going. You know, things to do, people to see.

Black Holes

We get to watch Harry Potter tonight! Yay, yay, yay! So far I'm really loving these movies! We just finished Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. I believe the next one is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I'm still reading the second book, The Chamber of Secrets. It's really good so far. I'm on hold for the third book, but who knows when it'll actually get it. I'm number ten on the waiting list. Not a completely crazy number, but it's still going to feel like forever until I actually get it. I guess in the mean time I can read the millions of other books sitting around my room.

So you remember how I said I wanted a camera? I still do. But even more so today. Alas, I only have a little, silver one; I already said how it's old. To bad Sereina/Daddy's old camera broken. Like, it sorta works. It's not dead, but you can't take pictures with it. If it worked I'd totally use it.

Guess what my newest "obsession" is? It's not exactly an obsession but I've become really interested in Black Holes. More importantly, what the heck is on the other side?! I was talking to my dad about this. I wanted to know if they could get live feed from the Moon (I forgot that they've got live feed from Mars!) so when he told me that we can I said why not spend a space ship into a black hole to wee there it goes? He said we'd never get it back; that black holes shift time and space and mess everything up. So I asked how anyone could possibly know that. He didn't have an answer. So that's been my latest thought, what is up with black holes? I almost want to go in one, but I'd most likely never come back. That wouldn't be good.

So, have you ever watched a movie, or read a book, then been like I want to write a story about that! But I'll have to change it so it's not exactly the same. Then you start coming up with ideas and basically end up planning the exact same story with different characters/places? That's how I feel about my blog. I love the look of The Morg, a friend of mines blog. And as I said I want to change my blog, but I don't want to copy her (or anybody else for that matter). You might say I feel a little stumped about how I should change my blog. I just want it to be... different.

Those chickens! Somehow Snowy, our chicken (I forgot her breed... darn it), keeps getting out into the yard. And that brings me on the topic of how extremely smart/dumb chickens are. Seriously, at times they are the craftiest, smartest beings ever. Then you turn around and they're the complete opposite. Sometimes I wonder where the term "chicken" (as in being scared) came from. Chickens are not chicken. Well, unless you throw a dead mole at them. Then they're scared out of their wits. Or if you throw a rake full of grass into their coop. Chicken's are so weird. But so awesome.

*Bobbing head to music* "It's the eye of the tiger, it's the king of the fight." Sorry about that. My dad's listening to Eye of the Tiger. I used to listen to that song all the time when I was little. It was one of my favorites. Of course my taste in music has grown, but I still love those songs.

Haha, yes! Watermelon with dinner! Celebrate people, we're having watermelon with dinner! Watermelon is one of the best things about summer. It makes the occasional unbearable heat bearable. Speaking of heat, man it's hot today. I think it's going to get hotter as the week goes on. Oh dear. We're in for some terrible weather. Although I suppose it is a little nice. Tiana, Daniel and I went wading in the creek. At first it was cold, but I just had to remind myself of glacier water (glacier water is so cold, and I mean like so cold that I can't put half my foot in for more than a very small while). It was really nice. Yet again I was yearning for a good camera. Hm, maybe I'll go see if I can get any decent pictures from my camera. And maybe I will actually start saving my money for a camera.

Skimming the Surface

So, as you know I've had this blog for... hm, I'm going to go see when I started it. *Random crashing sounds in the background as I stumble through the basement of my blog* Ah, here we go! I started this blog and made my first post on June 2, 2013. That date is coming up. And for anyone who's been with me that long (or more like, whoever's been with me since I started posting regularly) would know that my blog has changed a lot (I like change). But, after looking through some other people's blogs I feel like I've only begun to blog. I'm only skimming the surface of what I could do. For starters, personality. I don't feel like my blog has that much. And what's it's purpose? A journal I guess. I tired to make it like an awesome scrapbook once. I tried to post like, once a week and make my posts really formal with nice pictures n'stuff. As you can probably guess that didn't work out well. I just really feel like there's more I could be doing...

On to another topic while I think in the back of my mind about what I can do to make this blog even more personalized. Two topics: newspapers and Harry Potter. Let's start with my favorite of the two. I am halfway through reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I've already seen the first three movies (and I can't wait to watch the fourth!). Harry Potter is just so cool, I love the setting and characters and just... yeah, it's awesome. So I don't want to go overly crazy before I've seen all the movies or read all the books, but let's just say I'm well on my way to becoming a Potter Head (isn't that just a weirdly awesome fandom name?!)

Now for the other topic: papers. I have to deliver papers today. Actually I need to go in a few minutes, so I'm just going to leave this open and finish this post when I get back.

***

*Some hours later* I'm back! Oh and my feet are killing me! Daniel and I did our paper routes together so I did a bit more walking than usual. I don't know exactly how many miles it was, but it felt like hundreds. Not to mention the heat. It was terrible. Please, give me a good old Washington rainy day! I love rain and all things cold. There are those who would disagree with me, but I honestly do prefer being cold to hot. My perfect day is a day where it's bright, yet the sun isn't exactly out. You can be outside without a jacket, and in short sleeves, and feel great. That is my perfect day. I mean today is fine, a bit hot as I've already pointed out, but I'm glad it's not our everyday weather (then again if it was I'd be used to it and it wouldn't make any difference).

I think I want a camera. No, I don't think, I know. I currently have a very old point and shoot camera. I bought it when I was like... I dunno. I wasn't a teenager yet, I know that much. The quality is... usually bad. What I would like is a camera like Tiana's. Multiple people I know have gotten it and say it's really great (I don't know that much about cameras so I'll have to take their word). It looks like a nice camera and it feels like a nice camera; I've never taken a picture with it though. But there's a problem: I only make twenty two dollars a month. That camera is like four hundred dollars. Yeah, let's do the math here. After sorting it... putting the money in all the budgets... that'd leave me with sixty percent of my monthly pay if I didn't spend any of it; so sixty percent of twenty two is approximately thirteen dollars. Okay, so I get thirteen dollars a month and I need four hundred dollars... let's see... that's 156 dollars in a year... so it would take me approximately three years to save up for that camera. Haha, yeah right.

That was fun. Like, really fun. Gosh, there are times when I really love math. I mean it's not exactly my preferred profession (that would be a millionaire) but it's fun to do for school. Really my school is so easy and simple, it can hardly be called that. I've given myself a few new assignments each week so I can learn more. It's also to help me say diligent with learning Scottish Gaelic (I got this awesome book about Gaelic from the library, but I don't know it's it's Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic, Manx Gaelic, etc.).

Oh yeah, I bought a new Schleich! It's a Bayala riding set. They're technically fairy people, with wings and very... I dunno, fairy-ish outfits. But I think they're pretty and I'm going to pretend they're like actors and trick riders for my own Schleich show. Yes, I'm fifteen and I still play with model animals. But to me it's oh so much more. In any case, the girls name is Lara and her horse's name is Feather. They make my collection go to a grand total of one hundred and thirty two Schleich.

Okay so fair warning, my blog might change. I dunno exactly when or even what remotely what I want it to look like. Let's just say I'm hoping to find a style I like better than this. Mar sin leat.

Believe

I haven't been writing much lately, and I want to get back in the groove. What got me into my groove after years of not writing was the idea of a story about a ghost, a girl, and an old train. Now that story is at a stand still; I'm having trouble finding pictures of old late nineteenth century trains. But I'm going to work on a different book. I've had so many idea's, this is getting intense. There's a new character, that I want to introduce in the first book. But I need to wait until at least the second book, maybe even the third. It's a series and I call it Believe.

So I finally saw The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Oh. My. Gosh. *intense fangirling and screaming* I want to tell you everything! But I don't want to give any spoilers. Oh good gracious, spoilers... Let's just say, you need to go see it. Now. Like, right now. It's amazing and just... go watch it!

Back on Believe. I just came up with the series name today. It didn't have a name for the longest time, but now I see that name really fits. Actually, I haven't written any of the books, although I'm planning of having it be a series. I haven't decided on the first book yet, since Ghost Train isn't working out as the first book. I'll just search Pinterest and figure out what would be best. See, the series is supposed to have a lot to do with history. I want to get all my facts right so it's going to make writing each book hard. But exciting!

Okay, sorry for the short post, but I just have to write. It's just screaming my name, especially since I came up with Madeleine's character... I'm in love with this new story series! Ahh!

Oh, did I ever mention that I'm reading Harry Potter? Actually I just finished the first book, and I've already seen the first movie. So as of the moment I'm a complete Potter Head! It's so cool! Sereina and I (and whoever else wants to watch) are going to watch the second movie tonight. I haven't read the second book, but as soon as Sereina finishes it I'll read it!

Okay, I seriously need to write...

Three Days, Three Ways

I'm not entirely sure why I title my post Three Days, Three Ways. The three days part came to mind because for the past three mornings the cats have been on my bed when I woke up (I was so stiff, because they were between my legs so I couldn't move without making them leave). As for the three ways part, I'm not sure. It just sounded cool, so I used it.
Oh look, a hidden message!
I've been practicing the piano again! I was a little rusty when doing He's a Pirate, but I'm getting better. I forgot a bit of the left hand for Across the Stars, and as for Kate's Theme, I can do it quite well (it's an easy song though, especially compared to the other two).
Seriously, when is someone going to find these...
I cannot wait till tomorrow! First off, we're celebrating May the Fourth (be with you) tomorrow, since our friends could only stay a short while if we were to celebrate it on the actual day. Secondly, it's the Mill Creek garage sale! I have money! Hehe, I love having a job, even if my feet ache after I'm done for the day. But yes, I love garage sales. It's the best place to get stuffed animals, specifically Webkinz. I don't care about the online codes, I like the actual stuffed animal. Daniel really likes to play with them, so I play with him. Also, once I found two retired Schleich at a garage sale for ten cents each. That's more than a good deal! So I'm really hoping to find some Schleich tomorrow. I am also looking for roller blades, clothes (because I hardly have any), and possibly a Wii. Our's broke a while back, and I miss the fun we'd have. Daniel and I love playing Lego Batman and Lego Batman 2. The Second Lego Batman is awesome because the main hub is all three islands of Gotham City! I prefer being Hawk Girl, or Black Canary. Or Batgirl or Huntress. Ah, to many good hero's to choose from! So yeah, if we're lucky we'll find a Wii (again).
Okay, I guess this is only my third time doing it, but still...
I also miss playing the Spider-Man 3 game. It was fun, swinging around the city. Taking MJ to see the sights, even when she was mad at me (that was the funnest part). It's an intense game, and I love intense games. Speaking of which, EPIC MICKEY! I love, love, love those games! They are the absolute best Wii games ever created!
It's a COW remember?
Oh, I have to get ready to go now. I'm heading to the Goodwill story to look for clothes. Yes, I actually get to buy clothes! I'm so excited, finally I won't have to wear only Pane Field and Historic Flight shirts. I have a bunch of the exact same shirt, but to an outsider they'd think I'm wearing the exact same shirt every day. Mar sin leat!
